Facilities

Fitzpatrick Center for Interdisciplinary Engineering, Medicine, and Applied SciencesOur research facilities are located on the West Campus of Duke University in the Fitzpatrick Center for Interdisciplinary Engineering, Medicine, and Applied Sciences. Structural, optical, and electrical characterization of nanomaterials and hybrid nanomaterial heterostructures are fundamental components of our research effort. In addition, the fabrication and characterization of single devices are fundamental to optimizing heterostructures for different device applications.

The research facilities used by our group include:
  • Infrared photodetector characterization system.
  • Matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation system.
  • Molecular beam epitaxy system.
  • Variable-temperature semiconductor characterization system.
  • Shared Materials Instrumentation Facility (SMIF).
